A messaging app that reliably sends and receives messages

This app has been working really badly lately. Half the time my messages don't send, I have to mess around with turning my wi-fi on and off to get them to deliver and be received. The app won't even load now. Please fix it, it has no reason being this buggy when it has so much support. Updating a year later to say it hasn't gotten better. I've had to reinstall multiple times. I have to open and close the app multiple times to even receive or send messages. How is this okay?

Super slow loading messages, keeps freezing up. This has been going on for several months. Messages sometimes never show up, messages I send keep going to the wrong person. It's become almost unusable now. Can't even read messages as normal cause it takes 10 minutes just to load them up. Doesn't need an update And gets worse with each day. EDIT: 2 YEARS LATER AND IM STILL HAVING THIS ISSUE. EVEN WITH A NEW PHONE. please fix your issue messenger

If I don't send multiples back to back then it takes anywhere from 5-45 minutes to actually send it. I shouldn't have to restart my phone every time I want to send a message. Fix your app or I'm out. I've used it for about 3 years now and the functionality has gotten worse and worse.
